21 September 2004: Grand opening of the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. on the National Mall. Free tickets are also available for entry into NMAI (entry is always free, but during the opening week festivities, visitors are required to obtain tickets). The Caddo Nation has been invited to send representatives to the Native Nations Procession which will be held in conjunction with the grand opening. There is an on-line registration form available for those who wish to participate in the procession. More information on the procession and the free tickets can be found at http://www.americanindian.si.edu.edu. The deadline for registration for the procession is 1 September.
