IMPORTANT DATES FOR CADDO FIREFIGHTERS

Refresher Course Training for the Caddo Firefighter program will be held early this year, however, no apparent date has been set at this time. Please call (405) 656-2344 ext. 244 for more information.

The Caddo Nation Firefighters have had a very productive fire season. For just this month of August we have already dispatched Two, twenty man crews. The first crew going to Oregon at the beginning of the month and the second crew leaving for Idaho a week ago. Even though the fire program has dispatched two crews out, we still have other firefighters available, and are sent out individually with other resources.

The Caddo Nation Heritage Resource Personnel (HRT) have completed their detail in Florida and are now waiting on new agreements. The Caddo Nation Fire engine has been on call in agreement with our current contract with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office.

Below are pictures of the Caddo Nation Firefighters getting ready to leave for Redding, Oregon. The crew, along with the Firefighter Coordinator, Gary Parker, was gone for a total of 16 to 18 days. Many of the firefighters have been firefighting for over 7 years. One of the firefighter said his father was a firefighter in the 50's, and that he wanted to follow in his footsteps. Another firefighter wants to protect our forest, he likes firefighting because it's honest money.
